Info:The Outreach Academy has been so successful that we are now opening a new off-shoot called Outreach Plus that will run once a week all year round. Participants will be able to take part in challenges and day trips, such as Splash, Overnight Camping expeditions and Horse Riding.

Outreach Academy

From October we will be running a programme of events, tutorials, lectures and lessons on varying subjects from literacy and numeracy to pottery and arts and crafts.

We would very much like to hear from any volunteers who have a skill that they
would like to teach for a one to two hour slot between 10am and 12 noon
once a month.

Daybreak Scheme & Daybreak Saturday Club

Chelmsford Mencap has several rewarding vacancies available during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays for both school children over the age of 13 years and experienced Support Workers who are working towards an NVQ Level 2 qualified in childcare.

You will be required to assist the children aged 3-18 years with learning difficulties with in-house activities and outings to help them achieve a greater level of independence.

The Charity’s subscription year is from 1st January to 31st December. New members joining during the subscription year will normally receive (where available) any back copies of the Charity’s news magazine issued between 1st January and the joining date. If you are a UK taxpayer it is very beneficial to the Charity if you Gift Aid your subscription. Please complete the 2011 A5 Membership Form. The Annual Subscription is due on 1st January and costs just £20 a year.

Membership Benefits

You will be entitled to attend all Chelmsford Mencap subsidised Clubs, schemes and events (some age restrictions, waiting lists and fees apply).
You will receive the Chelmsford Mencap Newletter three times a year.

We regret to advise that this club has closed with immediate effect (29th June 2011) and we are working hard on opening a new Saturday Club service to our members aged 3-18 years in January.
